The city of Washington sits along the original National Highway (US Rte 40), and is well-placed at the intersection of two large interstate highways (US 70 and US 79); in addition, US Route 19 runs through town, and connects Washington to the PA Turnpike. Pittsburgh International Airport (Moon Township) is only 26 miles northwest of the B&B; downtown Pittsburgh is slightly less, and can be reached via US Rte 79 in approximately 30 minutes. To the west via US Rte 70, it is a short drive (about 25 minutes) to the city of Wheeling, WV, while 16 miles to the south on US 79 lies Waynesburg, PA. The Rush House sits on Rte 40/Rte 19, which is called Maiden Street as it comes through town. We are less than 5 minutes from US 79 and US 70, and within 2 miles of the center of Washington; Washington and Jefferson College is located slightly more than one mile from the house, straight up Maiden Street towards the town center. With our central location, we are close to many areas of interest: the Laurel Highlands, Northern WV (Wheeling to the west, Morgantown to the south), the city of Pittsburgh, as well as the cities of Canonsburg and Waynesburg.
